KSRTC bus types explained
Ordinary / Fast Passenger
The cheapest and most frequent classes. Fast Passenger stops at most towns along the route; Ordinary stops almost everywhere. Non-AC, seater, no reservation needed on many services.
Super Fast
The workhorse of KSRTC long-distance travel. Limited stops, non-AC seater, reservable online. On most intercity corridors this is the class with the largest number of daily departures.
Super Express / Super Deluxe
Fewer stops again and slightly higher fares than Super Fast. Super Deluxe Air Bus services add better seating on the longest routes.
Minnal (overnight)
Overnight express services, typically leaving late evening and arriving early morning — used heavily on Trivandrum, Ernakulam and Bangalore corridors.
AC — Low Floor, Volvo, Multi Axle, Garuda
Air-conditioned classes. Low Floor AC runs city and medium-distance routes; Volvo and Multi Axle AC Seater cover long-distance and interstate runs to Bangalore, Mysore, Coimbatore and Mangalore.
KSRTC SWIFT
The separate company KSRTC set up to run its newer premium and long-distance fleet. Swift services appear in the same search results and book through the same official site.

How SoloTrip differs from a booking site
SoloTrip is not a ticket agent. It never takes payment, adds no convenience fee, and holds no inventory — booking happens on KSRTC's official site. What it adds is the layer KSRTC's own site lacks: a map with real bus-station coordinates, boarding points resolved to actual stands rather than town centres, 1-stop connections when no direct bus exists, and a landmark search so you can start from “Munnar” or “Athirappilly” instead of guessing which KSRTC city serves it.
KSRTC bus booking — FAQ
How do I book a KSRTC bus ticket online?
Search your route on SoloTrip to see real KSRTC timings, fares and boarding points, then tap a bus to continue to KSRTC's official booking site (onlineksrtcswift.com) where you pick a seat and pay. SoloTrip charges no booking fee and never handles payment — you book directly with KSRTC.
What is KSRTC?
KSRTC is the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, the state-owned bus operator for Kerala, India. It runs city, intercity and interstate services across all 14 districts plus long-distance routes into Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
What is KSRTC SWIFT?
KSRTC SWIFT is a separate company created by KSRTC to operate its newer premium and long-distance fleet, including AC and low-floor buses. Swift services show up in the same search results and are booked through the same official KSRTC site.
What are the different types of KSRTC buses?
KSRTC service classes run from Ordinary and Fast Passenger (cheapest, most stops) through Super Fast and Super Express to AC classes — Low Floor AC, AC Seater Volvo, Multi Axle and Garuda. 6 classes are explained on this page with what each is actually used for.
Are KSRTC bus timings on SoloTrip live?
Yes. Every bus list is fetched from KSRTC's own systems for the date you pick, so timings, fares and service types are current. Route pages also carry a dated timetable snapshot — the ones published now were recorded on 26 July 2026 so the numbers are readable even before the live list loads.
Does SoloTrip charge a booking or convenience fee?
No. SoloTrip is free and takes no commission or convenience fee. It is a search and mapping layer over KSRTC data; the transaction happens entirely on the official KSRTC site.
Can I find a KSRTC bus when there is no direct service?
Yes. When no direct bus runs between two cities, SoloTrip works out 1-stop connections — which city to change at, both legs’ timings, the layover length and the total fare. Route pages with no direct service name the interchange explicitly.
How accurate are the boarding points?
Boarding points come from KSRTC’s own pickup data, snapped to real bus-station coordinates from OpenStreetMap rather than town centroids. Where a stop cannot be resolved to a station, SoloTrip labels the coordinate source instead of guessing.
